Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal held a meeting with officials of Health Department and Revenue Department and all the District Magistrates of Delhi.  Till now the Gujarat government was appealing to people to run only Green Crackers on Diwali.  A special campaign was also started for this.  The use of firecrackers other than green firecrackers was prohibited.  But this evening, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal announced a complete ban on all types of firecrackers on Diwali.

 Environmentalists have advised the Gujarat government to ban firecrackers.  He has said that at least this year in view of the corona epidemic, this Diwali should be banned for burning firecrackers.  It has been said that firecrackers can cause problems to senior citizens, children and other sick people.  On the other hand, firecrackers say that they will suffer a lot from the firecrackers' ban.

 Rajasthan, Odisha, West Bengal have banned firecrackers in the country.  The National Green Tribunal on Wednesday issued notices for 18 states where air pollution is in a bad state.  Gujarat is also included in the list of these 18 states and union territories.

 The Odisha government of Rajasthan also announced a ban on the sale of firecrackers from 10-30 November. The government said in an order that anyone violating the order should be subject to the provisions of the Disaster Management Act, 2005 and other related laws.  Will be punished under

 West Bengal: On Thursday, the Calcutta High Court banned the use of firecrackers on Kali Puja, Diwali and Chhath Puja to investigate the spread of 
Kovid-19 in the state.  “The court has banned the sale and use of firecrackers during Kali Puja, Diwali and Chhath Puja this year.  Also, no immersion procession has been asked to be held this year.

 Maharashtra on Friday issued guidelines to curb the spread of Kovid-19 during Diwali.  The government has appealed to the citizens not to burst firecrackers.  However, in Mumbai, the civic body of the state capital, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), announced on Thursday that it would ban the bursting of firecrackers in public places in the city.  The BMC has also warned to punish the violators.
